RESORT RULES AND MANAGEMENT POLICIES

To ensure a pleasant and safe stay, we kindly ask for your cooperation in observing the following rules, which form an agreement between the Guest and The Kontiki Curacao, under which rooms are provided.

 

Check-in and Check-out

  • Check-in time: From 3:00 PM
  • Check-out time: By 11:00 AM

All guests must complete and sign the registration card upon arrival and present a valid passport or ID card. A credit card authorization is required for incidental charges.

Late check-out requests must be made at the Front Office at least one day before departure. Approval is subject to availability and may incur an additional fee. For late check-outs after 6:00 PM, an extra night will be charged at the best available rate of that day.

Guests who have checked out may continue to enjoy the resort facilities. Showers are available in the lobby area; please contact the Front Office for reservations.

 

Safe Deposit Box

Each room is equipped with a digital safe. The hotel is not responsible for the loss of valuables or personal belongings.

 

Property (Hotel & Beach Clubs)

All keycards, beach towels, bathrobes, and other hotel items remain the property of The Kontiki Curacao and must be returned at check-out or left in the room. Damages to the property, including those at affiliated Beach Clubs, will be assessed and charged to the responsible guest accordingly.

 

Beach bed Policy

As our valued guest, we want to ensure you enjoy the best of the beach—effortlessly.

  • Pre-reserved Beach beds

For your convenience, we have pre-reserved beach beds at Cabana Beach exclusively for our hotel guests.

  • If you’re staying in one of our Luxury suites, you have access to the Cabana VIP Beach
  • Held Until 11:00 AM

Your reserved beach beds will be held until 11:00 AM. After this time, all beds will be made available on a first-come, first-served basis depending on availability.

  • No Personal Reservations

To keep the beach fair and relaxed for everyone, we kindly ask guests not to reserve beach beds by placing personal items. Unattended beds may be cleared by beach staff.

 

Visitors

Guests are allowed up to two outside visitors per day, between 7:00 AM and 11:00 PM, who must register at the Front Desk. Any exceptions must be authorized by the Manager on duty.

 

 

Noise and Conduct

Please maintain a peaceful environment and avoid excessive noise. Disruptive behavior may result in further action by hotel management.

 

Prohibited Substances

The use of drugs or weapons is strictly forbidden. Any evidence found on the premises will be reported to local authorities.

 

Smoking Policy

All indoor areas and rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted only on balconies, terraces, or designated areas. Please keep your room door closed while smoking outside. Smoking inside rooms will incur a cleaning fee of up to USD $350.

 

Alcohol Policy

Alcoholic beverages are only served to guests 18 years and older.

 

Guest Behavior

Respect towards hotel staff, other guests, and the property is mandatory. Aggressive or violent behavior will not be tolerated. Please remain on designated pathways and avoid walking through landscaping or areas belonging to other accommodations. Dispose of trash in the appropriate bins provided throughout the property.

 

Dress Code

Swimwear is only allowed at the beach and pool areas. In all other areas (restaurant, bar, lobby, parking lot), smart casual attire is required. Shirtless attire is not acceptable in these areas.

 

Swimming Pools

  • Open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • No diving or climbing on the pool edges
  • No lifeguard on duty; guests swim at their own risk
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • No food, drinks, or glassware permitted in the pool area

 

BBQ Policy

Open flames and BBQs are not allowed on room terraces, balconies, or anywhere on the property or affiliated beach clubs.

 

Pet Policy

Pets are not allowed, with the exception of service animals. Advance notice, proper documentation, and licenses are required for approval.

 

Photography and Filming

Commercial photography or filming is not permitted without prior written approval from management.

 

Travel Insurance

Guests are strongly advised to purchase comprehensive travel and cancellation insurance prior to arrival.

 

Fire Safety

In the event of fire:

  • Stay calm and dial 9 on your room phone to contact Reception.
  • Activate the nearest fire detector or alert a staff member.
  • Do not use elevators.
  • Follow emergency exit signs and hotel staff instructions.
  • Emergency floor plans are displayed on the inside of your room door.

 

Damage & Liability

Guests are responsible for any damage or loss to the room, facilities, or rented equipment. Upon check-out, hotel staff will inspect the condition of the room. Repair or replacement costs will be charged in full + one day BAR rate to the responsible guest.

Use of all facilities is at your own risk. The Kontiki Curacao and affiliated Beach Clubs are not liable for personal or material damage.

The hotel is not liable for injury, illness, losses, or death due to natural disasters, pandemics, or any circumstances beyond its control. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Accidents (with or without staff supervision)
  • Physical exertion
  • Limited access to medical care
  • Travel by any means
  • Consumption of alcohol
  • Equipment failure

 

Security Monitoring

For the safety and security of all guests, security cameras are installed throughout the property, including common areas and access points.

By entering the premises, guests consent to video and audio recording. These recordings are used solely for security purposes and may be reviewed in the event of an incident.

Recordings are stored securely, retained only for a limited period, and may be shared with authorized authorities when required by law. We strictly comply with applicable privacy and data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
